Hi there my name is Nicole and I’ve been a hair and make up artist for 15 years! My goodness, how quickly it’s flown by! I work in the film industry doing stills and commercials but my main passion is bridal hair and make up. My make up style is glowy, warm toned and I think of golden goddess vibes. Personally, I think the most important thing is skin prep. I love brides skin to look glassy, radiant and have a healthy glow. Mattified skin makes people look dull, flat and older so I generally steer clear of super matt faces.
My favourite tones to use are peaches, terracota, warm browns, pinks and plums as they make people eyes stand out. That’s generally my main focus…sexy, subtle smokiness for the sultry bride. OOOOH guuuurl! For blushes, it really depends on the skin tone but I prefer peachy bronze tones that make it look like you’ve been on a holiday in Greece!
I’m a huge fan of well placed highlighter for my bridal make up looks. I want my brides to walk out into the sunlight and shine bright!
Lip colour is totally up to the bride, some love a pop of colour and some want basically lip ice. I generally put on a more neutral tone if they don’t have a preference as it isn’t as noticeable when it starts to fade after the champes and kissing starts.
Hair wise I’m more known for my boho styles. Some brides want soft, tousled curls while others want a textured up do’s. Many brides give me references of the types of hairstyles they like, and I mush them together to make my own style so that I’m not just copying someone else’s work. As long as they’re happy in the end is all that matters!
